Father Adris Hanna, a native of the city who is serving at his own church within the Swedish Catholic Church in Stockholm, traveled to Iraq to provide support to the victims and assist in administering ADFA's aid. He has met with the relatives of both the groom and the bride, and both families have been severely affected. He has also met many other families that have lost loved ones, and has written a diary that has been published on ADFA's Facebook page.

Join us in supporting the victims of the tragic Baghdeda Wedding Fire in Iraq, which occurred on September 26th, 2023, at around 10:30 PM. We are deeply saddened by this devastating event that claimed over a hundred lives, left hundreds injured, and deeply affected our volunteers who have close ties to the community.
Now, more than ever, we need your support. Every donation can make a significant difference in helping the victims and their families during this challenging time. We are working in close partnership with local churches, particularly the Syriac Catholic community, and other charitable organizations on the ground.
Many victims have sustained injuries and severe burns, and their road to recovery will require months of treatments. Your generous donations will be directly used to cover their medical expenses, including surgeries, medications, and ongoing treatments.
Please donate today and stand in solidarity with the Baghdeda (Qarakosh/Hamdaniya) community. Together, we can make a real impact.
