PRESS RELEASE

London, September 24, 2025 – There is great joy! Nuri Kino, founder of ADFA (A Demand For Action), has been awarded Bronze in the Global Good Awards 2025 in the category Individual Changemaker of the Year. “I am deeply honored by this award,” said Nuri Kino. “But the prize belongs to everyone who is part of our grassroots movement – ADFA’s volunteers, board members, supporters, and donors. Above all, it is the people we have helped – their destinies, their traumas – that now receive an additional recognition.”

“We are very happy – it is, of course, both an honor and well deserved. Nuri is the embodiment of a good leader – he arrives first, leaves last, and can lead just as effectively from a distance as on the ground. His work – from the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan to the aftermath of the school shooting in Örebro – is exemplary. The ability to provide direct aid, such as food and medicine, while also giving a voice to those who might otherwise go unheard is our strength, and something we are very proud of,” said Stella Sjögren, board member of ADFA.

Since 2014, ADFA has grown from a social media campaign into a global aid organization that has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of people in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, Ukraine, Armenia, and Sweden. From life-saving evacuations to truckloads of emergency relief and advocacy that has influenced international policy, ADFA has repeatedly shown that determination and compassion can move mountains.

Last year, ADFA was among six finalists in the First Responders category – but without a win. This year, however, Nuri Kino has taken home the Bronze in what can be described as the World Championships of humanitarian work.

The Global Good Awards are internationally recognized for highlighting values-driven leadership. This year’s winners were celebrated at a ceremony at BMA House in London. Out of six outstanding finalists from around the world, the international jury awarded Nuri Kino Bronze for his leadership in humanitarian aid and advocacy for the world’s most vulnerable.

The Global Good Awards will later today publish both videos and professional photos from the gala on their platforms.
