ADFA holds gala for children in need in Sweden

Swedish-Lebanese singer Therése Neaimé will headline a fundraising gala in Södertälje on Nov. 29, the first Sunday of Advent. The humanitarian group A Demand For Action (ADFA) is organizing the event. The money will go to children and families in Sweden who cannot afford food, and to low-income pensioners.
ADFA’s earlier galas raised money for war-torn regions. This year the money stays in Sweden. Partners include the Pentecostal Church in Södertälje, Matbanken and Sisters International. Among other things, they support families during school holidays, when children lose their school lunch.
“The silent poverty here at home is devastating,” said Stella Sjögren of ADFA.
Neaimé said she sees it as an honor to use her music to draw attention to child poverty and help children get food.
The gala will be held at Monalisa Festvåning in Geneta. More artists will be announced.
Länstidningen Södertälje (LT) first reported the gala. Read the full story by Carina Sigurdsson Löpp.
