Integrity Policy

At A Demand For Action (ADFA), integrity is the foundation of everything we do. Our mission — to defend human rights, advocate for vulnerable communities, and deliver humanitarian support — requires the highest standards of ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability.

This Integrity Policy outlines the principles that guide our work, partnerships, fundraising, and decision-making.

1. Ethical Conduct

ADFA operates with honesty, fairness, and respect in all activities.

We commit to:

  • Acting in the best interest of the communities we serve

  • Avoiding conflicts of interest in decision-making

  • Ensuring that no personal benefit influences organizational actions

  • Upholding professional standards in advocacy, humanitarian response, and public communication

Board members, staff, volunteers, and partners are expected to act in alignment with these principles at all times.

2. Transparency and Accountability

We recognize that our supporters, beneficiaries, and partners place trust in us.

ADFA therefore commits to:

  • Clear and responsible use of donated funds

  • Documented approval processes for grants and partnerships

  • Maintaining accurate financial records

  • Providing regular updates where possible regarding our activities and outcomes

  • Cooperating with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

We strive for openness while balancing the safety and privacy of vulnerable individuals and communities.

3. Responsible Stewardship of Funds

All donations and grants are handled with care and purpose.

We:

  • Allocate funds according to approved objectives

  • Conduct reasonable due diligence on partner organizations

  • Monitor ongoing projects where feasible

  • Reassess partnerships if documentation, transparency, or ethical concerns arise

If a partner fails to meet agreed standards of transparency or accountability, ADFA reserves the right to suspend or discontinue support.

4. Respect for Human Dignity

Our work is grounded in the inherent dignity and equality of all people.

We do not discriminate on the basis of religion, ethnicity, gender, nationality, disability, or political affiliation.

We are committed to:

  • Safeguarding vulnerable individuals

  • Ensuring that aid is delivered impartially

  • Avoiding exploitation, coercion, or harm

  • Respecting cultural contexts while upholding universal human rights

5. Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery

ADFA maintains a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, bribery, fraud, or misuse of funds.

No representative of ADFA may:

  • Offer or accept improper payments or gifts

  • Divert funds for unauthorized purposes

  • Misrepresent organizational activities or impact

Any suspected misconduct will be reviewed and addressed promptly.

6. Data Protection and Confidentiality

We respect the privacy of donors, partners, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

Personal information is:

  • Collected only when necessary

  • Stored securely

  • Used solely for legitimate organizational purposes

  • Never sold or shared for commercial gain

Sensitive information regarding vulnerable communities is handled with particular care.

7. Responsible Communication

ADFA is committed to truthful, accurate, and respectful public communication.

We aim to:

  • Represent situations factually

  • Avoid exaggeration or manipulation

  • Protect the identities of vulnerable individuals where necessary

  • Ensure that media and advocacy efforts reflect verified information

8. Reporting Concerns

We encourage anyone associated with ADFA, including staff, volunteers, donors, or partners, to raise concerns about ethical conduct, financial integrity, or safeguarding issues.

Concerns may be reported confidentially to the Board of Directors. All reports will be taken seriously and reviewed appropriately.

Our Commitment

Integrity is not only a policy, it is a continuous responsibility.

As ADFA grows in its advocacy and humanitarian initiatives, we remain committed to strengthening our governance, improving documentation practices, and ensuring that our actions consistently reflect our values.
